I’ve really fallen in love with the Proverbs again lately and as I think about the sixth and seventh graders I teach and see everyday these are some jewels that they need to hear:
“The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.” 10:8
“With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.” 11:9
“There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace.” 12:20
“He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” 13:3
“A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.” 14:5
